This project was for a redesign of the site we originally designed and debuted in 1995 at the White House Conference on Travel and Tourism. For the redesign, the direction from the client, Virginia Department of Tourism, was that the web site had to show that Virginia has everything and that Virginia is fun.

To achieve that end, I came up with the idea of using a random image on the homepage and a different background image and color scheme for each section as a way to highlight Virginia's diversity. Consistency was maintained with the navigation, using rollover images to connect the name and backround image of each section.

My responsibilities included creating the overall visual concept, designing and developing the Home page, Events and Post Office sections; assisted in designing the site architecture; client contact for development issues, coordinating with their art and media departments for branding, and developing and presenting lo-fi prototypes to senior management.
